On the 21st of February, GameSStop will organize Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir Qualifiers. As it should be expected, we already seen interest also from the communities in Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, hence this announcement is exclusively in English. Please note that this is the last PTQ to be held in Romania, since the system already transitioned to PPTQ’s and Regional PTQ, so this is the LAST chance to get an invite and plane ticket to a PRO-TOUR (after this one you will go back to the new system with preliminaries and regionals … yeah lots and lots to grind but also lots and lots of fun to have! J)

Tournament format:
STANDARD

Deck lists are required.

General Eligibility:
Players who have won a Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir Qualifier may not compete in further Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir Qualifiers (including Magic Online Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir Qualifiers).

Players with a Pro Tour Players Club Platinum level or Gold may not compete in Pro Tour Qualifiers.

All other players may participate in Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir Qualifiers.

Tournament length:
Swiss rounds – 50 minutes
Number of Swiss rounds – based on attendance according to the following example:

Example: players vs. swiss rounds vs. playoff
9-16 => 4 Rounds => Top 8
17-32 => 5 Rounds => Top 8
33-64 => 6 Rounds => Top 8
65-128 => 7 Rounds => Top 8

around 7:15 P.M. TOP 8 (playoff)

Playoff

Playoff matches will be best 2 of 3.

Playoff matches will be single-elimination.

While there are no time limits in the playoff rounds, players are expected to play at a reasonable pace and finish their matches within 60 minutes.

Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will still be used to determine final order in the standings.

For the first game of each playoff match, the player who finished higher in the Swiss rounds chooses either to play first or to play second. For subsequent games in each playoff match, the usual Play/Draw rule applies (loser of the previous game decides whether to play first in the next game).

Planeswalker Points multiplier: 5x, Rules Enforcement Level: COMPETITIVE 

Competitive events are usually those with significant cash prizes or invitations awarded to Professional events. Players are expected to know the game’s rules-but not to a technically detailed level-and be familiar with the policies and procedures, but unintentional errors are not punished severely. These are events that protect the interests of all players by providing event integrity while also recognizing that not all players are intimately familiar with Professional-level event structure, proper procedures, and rules.

The Magic: The Gathering Tournament Rules and Magic: The Gathering Infraction Procedure Guide are in effect for this event.

Players must bring pen, paper, card sleeves and appropriate counters.

The tournament will be judged by Level 2 and Level 1 Judges.

The winner of the event will receive an invitation and travel award to Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir that will take place April 10-12, 2015 in Brusseles, Belgium.

The players that ranked in the top 16 after SWISS rounds will receive prizes in the following manner (or top 8 if less than 16 players):

For example (50 participants): 1st place recieves 3 displays, 2nd place receives 1 display, 3rd place – 24 boosters , 4th place – 16 boosters and so on

Other prizes:

To make it more interesting and challenging for the players, ADDITIONALLY to the boosters prize pool, we will offer the following prizes (~300 EUR) to TOP 4 players in the single-elimination rounds (even there is a single-elimintation procedure, the „battle” for 3rd and 4th place will take place)

3rd place: FROM THE VAULT – ANNIHILATION

4th place: bundle comprised of LEATHER DECKBOX and BINDER
